treadmill for bikes

Riding a trainer is boring, rollers are a bit better, E-Motion Rollers can be fun for awhile, but a treadmill for bikes!? Now that would be fun! Rainy days and long winters no longer have to take their toll on your fitness. Maybe by next winter…

Alpine Gravity’s Megavalanche Mega Carnage Downhilll Race Video

February 25, 2016 by Adam Farabaugh

megavalanche

Ive never had so many laughs being involved in so much carnage and crashing. Looking back at the footage I laugh my head off, SOOO funny. Got crashed into from behind or shunted from the side several times, the first one resulting in my bike stopping way up on the steep glacier and having to play frogger trying to dodge flying bikes and bodies while climbing back up the steep glacier back to get it (watch the footage, its hilarious). I then got right off the brakes and over took most of the riders that passed me while going back for the bike, just to get hit twice again lower down (the glacier is so steep I couldn’t stop sliding!!!), with the second impact busting my derailer, shifter and all the body armour on my right hand side, so my mega race was pretty much over from then, as I was stuck in the hardest gear for all the pedalling and climbing. My quickest time in practice was 52 minutes which would have got me in the top 100, but that’s racing. Result aside, Mega was one of the best experiences ive ever had on a bike, and some of the most inspiring trails I have EVER seen. Already planning for next year, as ive got a ton of new riding buddies from all around the world, and cant wait to come back. Alot more vids to come…

Video – Riders Blown Off Bikes Due To High Winds

February 11, 2016 by Adam Farabaugh

windy ride

It’s not often that you see races cancelled because of wind but the Volta a La Marina in Benidorm, Spain had winds so high that they had to do exactly that. This takes riding in the wind to a totally new level. How windy was your ride today? Let us know in the comments below.

You quite often hear about competitors 'being blown away' in sport but it actually happened on Sunday to cyclists in Benidorm. Local Spanish media were reporting gusts of up to 90 mph. Cyclists, trees… even motorbikes were being blown sideways. The race had to be abandoned by organisers.

Bike rider rescues deserted puppy

On bike rides we are bound to come across unusual things on the side of the road but an abandoned puppy in the middle of nowhere? Luckily this rider saw it while riding by and took it home. People are pretty awesome and I’m sure this dog was stoked.

Thanks For Being A Good Human 🙂“I’m 10 miles from the nearest anything.”

Can You Ride This Bike? – Learning and Unlearning How to Ride A Bike

February 3, 2016 by Adam Farabaugh

can you ride this bike

This is a very interesting video on how we learn and are then programmed to ride a bike. Ever here the saying “You never forget how to ride a bike?” Well in fact you can. By switching the turning direction of the handlebars, meaning turn the bars to the left to steer right and vice versa, your mind no longer can tell your body what to do to stay upright even though you know the handlebars are reversed. And then if you do learn to ride like this, your brain forgets how to ride a normal bike. Interesting how the brain works and that it can be re-programmed but in doing so essentially erases the original connections of riding a normal bike. Also, this explains why it’s so much harder for an adult to learn to ride a bike than a kid. Learn while you’re young!
